The Rock-a-who?

For the 2007 San Diego Comic-Con souvenir book’s
25th Anniversary of “The Rocketeer” section.
I’ve always felt a personal connection to “The Rocketeer”, not only because it was really frakkin’ cool and had all the things I was interested in, but because Dave Stevens was from San Diego and we had the same high school art teacher (though several years apart). My art teacher, Mr. Nyri, constantly used stories of his former pupil’s better skills and work ethic as a form of motivation for me. No matter what I did, Dave Stevens did it better.
Can’t argue with that, though. He’s one amazing artist and can kick my butt up and down the street all day long, artistically speaking. He still serves as a kind of benchmark for me.
------
I just got a call from Lionsgate Films today informing me that I won a chance to attend an advanced screening of “The Condemned” with cast members. I put my name in a fishbowl at WizardWorld LA. I’m hoping Vinnie Jones will be there so I can snag a photo with him.
